  • Crab masala

Backwater crab, cracked and cooked to order

Good To Know

Premium Menu FAQs

What is included in the Premium houseboat food menu?

A welcome drink, a Kerala lunch of rice, sambar, fish fry or curry, chicken fry or curry, pulissery, thoran, salad, curd, papad, pickles and payasam, evening tea or coffee with banana fritters or onion pakoras, dinner of chappathi, rice, fish, chicken, mixed vegetable curries, dal and curd, and a combined continental and Kerala breakfast. All meals are included in the package price.

How is the Premium menu different from the Deluxe menu?

The Premium menu is wider at every main meal. Lunch and dinner both carry fish and chicken rather than one or the other, lunch adds pulissery and payasam, and breakfast combines the traditional Kerala plate - puttu, kadala curry, appam and egg stew - with a continental spread of bread, butter and jam.

Do AlleppeyGT houseboats provide vegetarian food?

Yes. Most of the Premium menu is already vegetarian, and the chef prepares alternatives in place of the fish and chicken when you ask before the cruise - typically paneer curry or vegetable stew at lunch and paneer masala or aloo gobi at dinner. Tell us at the time of booking so the shopping is done accordingly.

Is food prepared on the houseboat?

Yes. Every Premium boat carries its own chef and kitchen. Lunch is cooked while the boat is cruising and dinner after it moors, so nothing sits around waiting to be served.

Can the menu change depending on the houseboat?

Slightly. The Premium menu is standard across our Premium boats, but the fish depends on the morning catch and some items shift with seasonal availability. Confirm specific dishes with our team before your trip.
